For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, Neither did their own arm save them: But thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, Because thou hadst a favour unto them (Psalm 44:3 KJV)
The gift of wealth is one of the many gifts that we have inherited by grace in Christ.
The exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and their possession of the land of Canaan were defining moments in the birth of the nation of Israel. The Lord established Himself as their God through a glorious display of His power and wisdom. He delivered them from slavery and gave them the land of Canaan by uprooting powerful and strong kingdoms. David speaking about these events, said “they got not the land in possession by their own sword.” It was not by their doing or power. It was the LORD who did it.
God expects and commands us to give Him the glory for the things He does in our lives. This is a critical but straightforward spiritual lesson and truth. He does not share His glory. What that means is that if God does something in our lives and we fail to recognize Him and take credit for it, we are receiving the glory due to Him.
Learn to recognize God’s hand and give Him the glory due to His Name.

Was it God who physically fought the wars in the land of Canaan? How then does the scripture imply that it was God who gave them the land?
APPLY THE WORD
If you want to see more of God and the power of His Spirit operate in your life, learn to cultivate what this devotional is teaching. Learn to recognize God’s doings, celebrate them and give Him thanks. If it becomes a lifestyle, you will note how the Spirit will increase the supernatural in your life.
