And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him (Lk. 2:40 KJV).

growing through grace

Growing through grace describes a believer’s growth in an atmosphere where the grace of God abundantly furnishes all that they need. The scripture above tells us that Jesus grew to maturity in the atmosphere of God’s grace.

After we come into the kingdom of God as newborn babies, God expects us to grow to maturity. No human has ever been born as an adult. The same applies to believers. We must go through a process of growth, where divine virtue progressively fills our souls, and transforms our lives.

The grace of God abundantly furnishes all that we need for growth. The Apostle Paul said it beautifully this way: “That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge” (1 Cor. 1:5 KJV). Grace enriched the believers with knowledge, and the ability to declare the Word. Grace will furnish your life with love, joy, peace, and all the fruit of the Spirit. Grace will also empower your life with the gifts of the Spirit, making you a very effective minister of the Gospel.

Never allow your spiritual life to become stagnant, or regress. Continue to grow each day, through the abundant provisions of God’s grace.

MEDITATE

What does it mean to grow spiritually? Use the metaphor of a newborn baby. Declare that “I am growing each day, through the grace of God. His grace abundantly furnishes all that I need to develop a rich and rewarding spiritual life”.

APPLY THE WORD

Spiritual growth is built upon a foundation of the knowledge of God. Grace then enriches your life through that foundation. See to it that you have a solid plan to increase your knowledge of God, through His Word.

PRAY

Ask the Spirit of God to enrich your life, through His grace, as you grow in the knowledge of His Word.
