The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; Because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to them that are bound. (Isaiah 61:1, KJV)

The Spirit is the anointing in us that breaks the yoke

To serve God effectively and live for Him, we must free ourselves from entanglements that restrain us. A crucial role of God’s Spirit in our lives involves setting us free from these chains. Today, let’s delve into how the Spirit breaks these shackles.

Isaiah foretold the deeds of Christ, the Anointed One. He shared how the Lord anointed Jesus to announce freedom to the captive and liberate the imprisoned.  Captives and prisoners are those chained by any bondage that causes suffering against their will and are helpless to free themselves.

Acts 10:38 affirms:

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that the devil oppressed; for God was with him.” (Acts 10:38, KJV)

God empowered Jesus to heal, liberate, and set free those burdened by the devil. The Holy Spirit is our Liberator, bondage Breaker, and the Spirit of freedom( 2 Corinthians 3:17).

Why does God value our deliverance and freedom? We cannot truly serve or live for Him while chained by sin, emotional torments, physical ailments, financial burdens, demonic afflictions,  and more :

“That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies Might serve him without fear” (Luke 1:74, KJV)

The Holy Spirit within us aims to liberate you from these chains, shatter bondages, and empower you to live and serve God to the fullest.
