And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest’s office. (Ex. 29:44 KJV)
An attitude of worship is key to cultivating God’s presence living in us. Exodus 29:44 above says, “I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest’s office.” God consecrated Aaron and his sons as priests to minister to Him. Notice He did not say to “minister to the people” but “to me.”
The Holy Spirit within us is the very presence of God, the same presence that was living in the tabernacle. Cultivate an attitude of worship at all times. The psalmist said “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer” (Ps. 19:14 KJV). The word “acceptable” in this verse means well pleasing. Let your heart and your mouth continuously be instruments of worship to the Lord. An attitude of worship will in turn cultivate God’s manifest presence in your life.
MEDITATE
Mutter the words “God has consecrated you in Christ to minister to Him” and “His holy presence lives in me.”
PRAY
Open your mouth, and give Him thanks for coming to live inside of you.
ACT ON THE WORD!
Do something about the Word you just received! Take a moment right now to worship the Lord with your heart and mouth. You can worship the Lord even in the midst of a very busy day with the “meditation of your heart.” Make a melody in your heart to the Lord always (Eph. 5:19)! At every opportunity, open your mouth and bless His name. You do not need to wait for the “worship time” in church. Cultivate a 24/7 attitude of worship!
