Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand (Ps. 149:6 KJV)

Praise is a spiritual weapon

Praise is a weapon by itself against the forces of evil and oppression. The verse above exhorts the saints to have the high praises of God in their mouth and a two-edged sword in their hands, ready for battle! The walls of Jericho were brought down not by the classic weapons of war but by the weapons of praise!

“Something” happens in the spirit realm when we praise God. This effect takes on more importance when we are in a situation that makes praise not only unacceptable but painful. Have you ever been in a situation that makes you feel praise is the last thing that you can imagine coming out of your lips because of the distress and anguish you were facing? Learn this secret today. The praise that comes out of your mouth at the bottom of your valley in life is precious and powerful. Everyone can praise God on the mountaintop when “life seems beautiful.” However, it takes spiritual stamina to praise God in the midst of a challenge.

Praise, irrespective of the circumstances, will not only glorify God but will break chains and demolish strongholds. Do not allow the enemy to remove praise from your mouth. If Satan takes your praise, he will undoubtedly have the victory over you. Be praise-full at all times.

MEDITATE

Do you think Paul and Silas were having a good time in the jail when they began to praise God at midnight? ( Acts. 16:25-26). Declare that “the high praise of God shall forever be in my mouth.”
