We apply the blood of Jesus by the Word
Despite our relationship with God being founded on the blood of Christ, many Christians still struggle to comprehend the meaning of Christ’s blood and how to apply it in their daily lives. Today, we delve into a crucial aspect of applying the concept of Christ’s blood: the connection between the blood of Jesus and the Word of God.
We focus on the intriguing dialogue between Jesus and the Jews in the book of John, chapter 6. For some of Jesus’s followers, His statement, “Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life,” marked a turning point. They likely felt they had received enough of Jesus’s teachings and consequently ceased to follow Him—the notion of eating His flesh and blood was challenging for them to accept.
Recognizing that even His 12 Apostles found this teaching perplexing, Jesus elucidated His point by explaining, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63, KJV) Essentially, He conveyed that consuming His flesh and blood was symbolic of receiving His spoken words. Understanding, believing, and adhering to His teachings would lead to eternal life.
For Christ’s blood to hold significance for any individual, they must engage with God’s words, have faith in His message, and live accordingly. Indeed, the blood is in the Word. Consider an example: Imagine you have repented and confessed a sin, yet you continue to struggle with feelings of guilt, shame, and self-condemnation. You desire sanctification and release from these tormenting emotions through the sprinkling of Christ’s blood (1 Peter 1:2). To achieve this, you must seek out relevant passages of God’s Word that address your situation (such as 1 John 1:9)) and believe the truth contained therein (2 Thessalonians 2:13).
Consequently, the blood of Jesus flows or is sprinkled when we believe and act on the Word.

Apply the Word
Is there any area in your life to which you need to apply the blood? Any battles you need the weapon of the blood? If so, seek out the relevant passages in the Word that pertain to your situation. Understand, believe, and confess these truths in your life.

Up to day am still struggling to understand the blood because I hear preacher say we are applying the blood of Jesus yet according to your teaching the blood of Jesus is in the very Word of God that I study every day. Amen! Pleased to hear that. Yes, it is confusing, teaching and topic for many Christians. One simple thing you can do is to find all the verses that speak about the blood of Jesus in the New Testament and read them carefully. That will be better for you to know what the Bible really says about the blood than listening to more sermons or reading more teachings about it.
