The mystery of the incarnation

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth (John 1:14 ESV)

Baby Jesus was for a season, and He is not longer a Baby!

Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus. However, nine months earlier, the real mystery took place when Jesus was conceived in Mary’s womb. I do not think there has been, or will be any event since God created the heavens and the earth that could be compared to the mystery of the incarnation, that is, God becoming a man. 

Please note that the Word becoming flesh, as noted above, is not merely God as spirit taking up the human body. I have explained this multiple times before. It was not a temporary venture. God permanently became a Man, in His totality of spirit, soul and body, and for all eternity will be a Man, living and dwelling amongst us. Many of us think that one day we will see the Father in some other human form with a face, body, etc. Well, the Father, you will forever see, that has become visible to human beings is Jesus!

Jesus is the Father in human form. He became a human being and lived amongst us as every other human being. And when you think about why He did that, we are just overwhelmed with awe for Him. He so loved us and became human to save us from our sins and bring us into His glory. The birth of Jesus is only the outward manifestation of a greater mystery and marvel that had taken place 9 months earlier.

APPLY THE WORD

We do not need to go to the unapproachable light where the FAther dwells to see Him. He has come to us. He is now a Man. Look at Jesus and see the fullness of the Father. He is here, now to save us to the fullest. Joy to the world and peace upon humans, for the Father, has come to live permanently with them!!
