Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf. (2 Corinthians 1:11 KJV)

prayer fils with power!

Paul speaking, told the Corinthians they were helping him by praying for him. In other words, Paul was helped in the ministry activities and tasks he had to perform because the Christians in Corinth were praying for him. Think about this for a moment and consider the implications. There is power in prayer.

Many of us will struggle with truths such as this one because we just do not truly accept it as true, though we might profess the contrary. If many of us believe this simple truth, we will pay attention to prayer more than we do. The Lord has opened my understanding to know how the spiritual operates with the physical and it has had a profound impact on my understanding of the scriptures.

As a young Pentecost growing up, I was used to drama and charisma in spiritual things. I often thought the supernatural was almost always spectacular. No! Yes, the supernatural will sometimes be spectacular, like Elijah calling down fire from heaven. However, most of the time, God will operate in your life without even an iota of spectacular atmosphere.  If you can understand this principle, then this devotional will come alive to you.  Things will happen in the your life and in the lives of others because someone is praying. You might never see an angel or hear some voice from heaven, but the Spirit is moving and changing situations because of prayer.

How can prayer help you and those you are praying for?

APPLY THE WORD

Prayer helps. Pray for yourself, your family, the believers, ministers, the lost, the world, etc. If believers truly believe in prayer, as many of us assume we do, our engagement in prayer will be so much different. Pray!

PRAY

Ask the Spirit to help you overcome the discouragement of starting and maintaining a healthy prayer life.
