The strange woman seems to be as sweet as a honeycomb but her end is bitter as wormwood

One of humanity’s soft spots is sex, and Satan knows it better than we do. We have heard and read of stories where men of great strengths and talents who would not muster the strength inn the face of sexual temptations. The scripture says “for by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life” (Prov. 6:26 KJV). A man can be reduced to a piece of bread through sexual faults and sins.

Our scripture above says the “lips of a strange woman drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil.” In straightforward terms, this means “sex appears better with another man or woman who is not your spouse, or one you are not married to.” You will probably immediately identify with the truthfulness of this statement. However, the next verse tells us what follows that allure of sweetness, “but in the end she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as da two-edged sword” (Prov. 5:4 ESV). This paradox is the age-old deception of sexual lusts. It promises sweetness and ends up with wormwood.

Satan is bombarding this generation with sexual temptations that no generation in human history has ever come close to. He knows it is one of his best baits to catch humans and one that causes the most destruction in their lives. As you live each day, crave the help of the Spirit to help you maintain your sexual purity each day.
